Texas de Brazil Presents A Quarter-Million Dollar Donation To St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®

Dallas, TX – November 11, 2019– The numbers are in! After tallying funds raised during Texas de Brazil’s national, one-month campaign and a finale charity luncheon, the corporate match commitment of $25,000 was boosted to over $29,000 to allow the Brazilian-American steakhouse group to present $250,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® team members. The donation was announced at the luncheon held in Texas de Brazil Dallas on October 26th. This brings the grand total donations raised for St. Jude through Texas de Brazil to over $791,000 since the annual campaign began in 2013.

“We are honored to be able to surpass the donations we’ve previously presented and thank our generous guests throughout the nation for joining us in supporting this important organization,” says Salim Asrawi, president and chief operating officer for the family-owned Brazilian steakhouse brand. “St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases and we are proud to support their efforts.”

Throughout August, Texas de Brazil partnered with St. Jude in a campaign that allowed guests to donate directly to the cause at the bottom of guest checks. No purchase was required, and for every $5 donated Texas de Brazil provided a $5 bounce-back certificate as incentive and on Mondays, doubled incentives up to $50. Monies raised through Texas de Brazil social media platforms, the finale luncheon sales and silent auction items donated by vendors and hospitality associates, plus Texas de Brazil’s $25,000 match boosted by nearly $4500 to allow the restaurant group to donate a quarter-million dollars to support St. Jude in its life-saving mission: Finding cures. Saving children.®

Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent when the hospital opened in 1962 to more than 80 percent today, and they won’t stop until no child dies from cancer. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.

Tacoma Mall Becomes 60th Location For Texas De Brazil

DALLAS, Dec. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Just two months after Texas de Brazil Churrascaria celebrated its 20th anniversary, the Brazilian-American steakhouse brand opens its 60th location and first in Washington State tonight when it opens in the Tacoma Mall at 5 p.m. Family-owned since its founding in 1998, Texas de Brazil is renowned for its striking ambiance, endless rodizio-style dining experience, and unique blend of Brazilian culture with generous Texas hospitality.

The vibrantly decorated 5,500 square foot restaurant offers 105 seats and a dining experience like no other. Featuring an open-grill kitchen, an expansive salad area, an intimate lounge, and an award-winning wine cellar, Texas de Brazil is a standout dining destination for large and small parties alike.

“We are pleased to introduce our distinct dining experience to new patrons and welcome the opportunity to greet and serve guests in this beautiful city of Tacoma,” says Salim Asrawi, Chief Operating Officer of Texas de Brazil.  “We look forward to treating shoppers, residents and guests from the University of Washington to our unique Brazilian fare and genuine service,” he adds.

At Texas de Brazil, the rodizio-style meal begins with a visit to the expansive fresh salad area that also includes hot and cold side specialty dishes. The variety includes artisan breads, imported cheeses, fresh buffalo mozzarella, steamed asparagus with marmalade sauce, Brazilian hearts of palm, spicy shrimp salad, sushi, sautéed mushrooms, feijoada (black beans), jasmine rice, Moqueca (Brazilian Coconut Fish Stew), lobster bisque and much more. The options help make this a steakhouse even vegetarians love.™

For the main course, carvers prepare mouthwatering cuts of meat grilled to perfection over natural wood charcoal – a gaucho tradition passed down through generations. When guests flip a two-sided disc located at each seat from red to green, gauchos parade by and carve tableside slow-roasted meats including Brazilian picanha (sirloin), lamb chops, filet mignon, leg of lamb, Parmesan-crusted pork loin, bacon wrapped chicken breast and more. When a break is needed from the unending flow of mouthwatering meats, guests simply turn discs back to red. This unique style of dining helps pace the experience to fit any timeframe – from leisurely meals with friends and family or efficient visits with business associates.

The expertly curated wine collection complements the varied menu with varietals from acclaimed California and South America vineyards to Texas de Brazil’s exclusive private label selection bottled in Chile. The lounge offers craft cocktails including the traditional Brazilian Caipirinha in a variety of flavors and a full selection of specialty cocktails, beer and soft drinks including the Brazilian Guarana.

Classic desserts served a la carte include Brazilian flan, deliciously rich Brazilian papaya cream and Brazilian Cheesecake plus sweet specialties such as pecan pie, carrot cake, and key lime pie.

Lunch service will soon be available. Now, Texas de Brazil is open for dinner Mon.-Thurs. 5 p.m.-9:30 p.m., Fri. 5 p.m.-10 p.m., Sat. 4 p.m.-10 p.m. and Sun. 4 p.m.-9 p.m.  Happy Hour is featured every Mon.-Fri. from 4:30-6 p.m.

Dinner costs $44.99 regular adult dinner, $24.99 salad area only adult dinner. When purchased with a full-price meal children 2 years and under dine complimentary, 3-5 years costs $5.00 and 6-12 years are 50% off adult dinner price.

The Experience
At Texas de Brazil, every guest’s experience begins at the expansive salad area filled with freshly made dishes, both hot and cold, including favorites such as lobster bisque and coconut fish stew (Moqueca), traditional rice and beans and potatoes au gratin, or charcuterie and imported cheeses, Brazilian hearts of palm, pineapple carpaccio and vegetable couscous.  The menu also features a variety of grilled meats cooked the authentic Brazilian gaucho way –over open flame using natural wood charcoal which gives the meats a deeper, more intense flavor and just the right amount of smokiness.  The tempting selections including succulent lamb chops, leg of lamb, picanha (sirloin), filet mignon, chicken breasts wrapped in bacon, Brazilian sausages and more, are then served tableside by costumed gauchos (servers).

During the continuous dining experience, guests pace the gaucho’s service with a simple flip of a red and green disc. Green indicates when additional servings are welcome while red indicates a break is needed.  The appealing menu offers something to please everyone at the table.
